Elevating the Sanya experience
During the summer of 2023, we partnered with Shake Shack to create a captivating interior experience for its new location in Sanya, a coastal city renowned for its distinct characteristics. Working alongside illustrator Christina Suen, we crafted a 5-meter mural and ten portrait pieces that celebrated the grand opening.
Drawing inspiration from Sanya's unique features, such as its location at 18 degrees north latitude, the design captures the beauty of the sunrise and the longing it evokes.
The sprawling mural takes viewers on a visual journey along Sanya's mesmerizing shoreline, spanning 209km. It immerses visitors in the experience of strolling along the beach, offering a distinctive and memorable encounter that sets this Shake Shack apart from others. The artwork showcases a diverse cast of beach-goers, enjoying Shake Shack treats and embracing the unpredictable Sanya weather, where rain and sun coexist. This picturesque seaside destination exudes a joyous atmosphere that instantly lets you know you're in Sanya.
In addition to the mural, we crafted ten individual portrait pieces as embellishments for the interior space, connecting them to the overarching mural theme. These portraits serve to harmonize the ambiance and evoke a sense of unity within the establishment.
